Our Journey
The North of England has always been an amazing place musically - from the Beatles to Beaver Works, via way of Wigan Casino, The Hacienda, Leeds post-punk, Sheffield techno, Scouse house... To this day, there's a million musicians, artists and creative spirits in the North, putting on events and making tunes every day of the week. But it's a hugely collaborative rather than competitive scene up here. There's room for everyone!
Highway 62 was formed in 2016 when I finally settled in Leeds, having spent a few years exploring Sheffield, Manchester and virtually everywhere inbetween. In fact, I was born in the South East, not far from Brighton, but I've always been fascinated and inspired by the mountains and moorlands of the Pennines, not to mention the cities that surround them, the people that live here and the music they make!
